This is She Surfs

Surf as a Lifestyle

It is much more than a sport, a hobby, or some kind of personal or group challenge. It is so complex, yet so simple, that it becomes a way of life, and it makes you change or awaken a consciousness or vision of how you see and feel the world.

For us, surfing became a way of living. From the moment we wake up and even when we sleep, we are immersed in the vibe of the wave, in how you communicate with other people and with the natural and spiritual environment, in how you want to spend your time, where, and with whom. You ask yourself every day why you didn't do it before, and at the same time, you understand that it came to you when it had to happen.

It's a magic that attracts you and takes you to a state of happiness so fleeting that you couldn't measure or repeat that moment you are living, as it happens in a few seconds of (real) time for your brain, body, and spirit, but it creates a connection that is eternal.

It becomes a romantic relationship where the high can take you as high as it can take you low, and even knowing this, you choose to do it because surfing is also love. And like everyone, we are afraid of the unknown, and at the same time, we are passionate about it; we love feeling in love.

There is a lot of information about what it is or what people want it to be. "I couldn't say who has the truth," because the truth is relative (Albert Einstein). But I could tell you what it means to us, respecting everyone's way of thinking because surfing is also respect, tolerance, and a lot of love.

Our Story

We are brothers from what the world and history know as Venezuela, with a year or a few months' difference between us, from a matriarchal family where, in our case, the leader was, is, and will be our grandmother (EUROPA) “NAME OF OUR GRANDMOTHER,” surrounded by teachers and athletes. Since we were young, our mother introduced us to the aquatic world and sports, awakening something inside us that, at that time, we didn't understand and that today we appreciate, all her efforts.

We were academically trained in Venezuela, oriented towards education and sports, as is the case in our family.

We discovered surfing when we moved to Spain at the ages of 27 and 28. It was (TICO), the “YOUNGER BROTHER BY AGE, BUT THE OLDER IN OUR RELATIONSHIP” HAHAHAHA, who became interested in surfing, perhaps due to anime, cartoons, or the environment where we now lived, which the world and history know as the Canary Islands, which for us are known as (paradise).

It was there that we felt that call or connection with Mother Ocean, and we delved into the world of surfing, delighting ourselves with all its magic and vibes. We decided to train academically in the world of surfing, and without realizing it, surfing became a part of our lives.

Why Surf for Women?

And why not? Although we all know that most "sports" are practiced mainly by men, we find that in certain practices, hobbies, and sports, among others, women may feel intimidated or not entirely safe due to the large numerical difference between those who practice the same lifestyle, sport, or hobby, in this case, SURFING. However, surfing is growing worldwide every day, and female participation in it is increasing significantly.

At She-Surfs, we feel the obligation to promote surfing as a lifestyle, especially for women, but also for anyone who wants to receive our good surfing vibes. Everyone is welcome!

More and more women are gaining visibility and recognition in surfing, which inspires more women to join and explore their own skills and passions.

Surfing offers many benefits for everyone, regardless of gender: it improves physical condition, coordination, and provides a deep connection with nature. Moreover, by promoting surfing among women, we can break social and cultural barriers and help create a more diverse and equitable community.

The inclusion of women in surfing helps to break stereotypes and prejudices, demonstrating that surfing is not just a male sport. It is important to educate people about gender equality and promote a culture of respect and support.

Surfing can be a powerful tool for women's empowerment, helping them develop self-confidence and personal skills.

Conclusion

Surfing goes beyond being a mere sport or hobby; it is a lifestyle that transforms the way we perceive and connect with the world. For those who live it, it becomes an inexhaustible source of joy, peace, and spiritual connection. It is a journey of self-discovery that challenges both physically and emotionally, creating a unique bond with nature and with those who share this passion.

Promoting surfing among women not only fosters gender equality in a field historically dominated by men, but it also strengthens women's confidence and empowerment. By integrating more women into the world of surfing, we open the doors to a more diverse, inclusive, and respectful community, where every individual can explore and express their love for the ocean without restrictions or prejudices.
